Toppin was selected eighth overall in the 2020 NBA Draft following a breakout sophomore season at Dayton in which he took home Atlantic 10 Player of the Year honors. The Denver Nuggets season didnt end as they hoped for, with a Game 7 loss in the second round to the Oklahoma City Thunder. However, the Nuggets played well enough that interim head coach David Adelman is now a strong contender to get that role on a permanent basis.
