After becoming one of the greatest players in college football history, Walker joined the USFLs New Jersey Generals and played there for three seasons before joining the Cowboys in 1986. He finished his rookie season with more than 1,500 yards from scrimmage and 14 scrimmage touchdowns. The following year, he earned his first Pro Bowl and All-Pro selections after posting 1,606 yards from scrimmage and eight total touchdowns. The best year of his career came in 1988, earning Pro Bowl and All-Pro nods yet again after ending the year with 1,505 rushing yards, the second-most in a single season in franchise history at the time, 505 receiving yards and seven scrimmage touchdowns.
