The Cowboys drafted Walker in the fifth round of the 1985 NFL Draft following a historic collegiate career with the Georgia Bulldogs and three seasons in the USFL. He spent the first four years of his NFL career with Dallas and made two Pro Bowls with them in 1987 and 1988. His best season with the Cowboys came in 1988, finishing the year with 1,514 rushing yards and five rushing touchdowns, as well as over 500 receiving yards and two touchdown catches. After stints with the Minnesota Vikings, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Giants, he returned to the Cowboys for the final two seasons of his career and eventually retired following the 1997 regular season.
